TBR Book Club for Teens

April Book: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah Maas

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a terrifying creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world.

At least, he’s not a beast all the time.

As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it, or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

The TBR (Teen Book Review) Book Club is for teens 13-18 years old. The club features a YA (young adult) novel each month. Teens register and pick up their copy of the month’s selection at the beginning of the month and then meet and discuss the book on the last Monday of the month. For more information, stop by the Youth Services desk located on the second floor of the library.

May Book: Pandora Seven Vol. 1 by Yuta Kayashima

Pandora’s Box... must never be opened.

Scale, wing, vine, hair...none of that mattered to Lia, because her friends and mother loved her. She lived happily and peacefully—an almost worry-free existence. As the sole member of humania on the island, of course she dreamed about meeting others of her kind. But she never really expected the joyous days to end...until they did. Until humans arrived and attacked her friends and family. Until she opened the box. And so began her lonely quest to save them all...

March Book: One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus

On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention.

Bronwyn, The Brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.

Addy, The Beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.

Nate, The Criminal, is already on probation for dealing.

Cooper, The Athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher.

And Simon, The Outcast, is the creator of Bayview High’s notorious gossip app.

Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention, Simon’s dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn’t an accident. On Monday, he died. But on Tuesday, he’d planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, which makes all four of them suspects in his murder. Or are they just the perfect patsies for a killer who’s still on the loose?

Everyone has secrets. How far would you go to protect them?

The TBR (Teen Book Review) Book Club is for teens 13-18 years old. The club features a YA (young adult) novel each month. Teens register and pick up their copy of the month’s selection at the beginning of the month and then meet and discuss the book on the last Monday of the month.
